Quick Reminder: Nosaj/TokiMonsta

Here's a quick reminder to everyone in Sydney who enjoys Hip-Hop beats, instrumentals or just good music in general. The famed Nosaj Thing and Tokimonsta will be playing in Sydney on the 22nd of July 2011! Which is just under a month away, I advise you to get tickets ASAP! I'll be ranting about it for the next few weeks until the days count down.

Tokimonsta is pretty sick live already! And with Nosaj that's like an L.A. Korean double damage!

Don't know Nosaj Thing or Tokimonsta?

And the famed KEXP live set by Nosaj Thing (Watch it in HD if you can!)

The intro samples OutKast's 'ATLiens' and creates this deep atmosphere... I'm pretty sure this would be one of the best sets to witness in my life.

Crimewave

It's a damn hot day and I'm at home smashing through 'The Walking Dead' and to be honest I'm pretty much lifeless myself at home. Nothing achieved.

But last night I could say it differed. I was at Sydney Festival's Beck's Bar. I stood at the front as the crowd stood there anticipating Gold Panda, quiet as ever. The only sound was the slow tempo of the crescendo, building up, the masses still staring, some closing their eyes gazing at the DJ. GP's neck bouncing back and forth perfectly in rhythm, he's one with his tune for he gave birth to it. Slowly but surely 'Vanilla Minus' (I think, my is memory hazy) kicked and the crowd was entranced and everyone started rocking and moving to the beat. I moved away from the front of the stage and stood alongside Grace and Sujin when 'You' started playing a second of silence before the crowd went wild. It was intense.

I can't really explain much more but Gold Panda was a great experience.

Dinner was Beef Ramen with Melon Calpico (This shit is THE BOMB)

Even Seekae was there.

We touched him also.

Your Presence Makes Me Calm

And your smile makes me die. I could live with that.

So I picked up the new part of the family. It was perfect weather, it was perfect to drive, and as I hit shuffle driving from my house "Ice Cube - It was a good day" coincidentally plays. Oh my god, there's a smirk on my face that looks like it's drawn on by a sharpie. *no rapist*

I also saw AK and Tim Chuan on Pennant Hills Rd whilst driving, I never see people when I drive in the corolla :/

Tonight is the SCA Undergraduate Degree Show, so if you read this I hope you can come!
Information: Link

I think I'll be driving my Mum, but Grace Li wants to come along! What a dilemma!

Some good artists coming up! Ratatat, Gold Panda, Crystal Castles, Washed Out, Mos Def & Lupe. Who to see and what to save?

The "Lone Wolf" upon his stage

Sage Francis is The Best MC I've seen live so far, not that I've seen a lot but this guy is amazing.

The "Lone Wolf" upon his stage, only an MC and CDJ.
His wig, his words, his personal stories and recollections spilt live and heard by his disciples. Mind numbing and unable to comprehend. The ability to make us jump and go wild yet humble us with the quick few wise words.

I was amazed by the turnout but slightly disappointed I only knew 2 other faces in the crowd (One of them that came with me :P Thanks Vivian!)

Apparently it's his last tour. I'm quite sad but I'm happy to have witnessed possibly the best thing ever in my life. I didn't get anything pictures but I have physical sweat from him upon my red sweater. So I guess that'll do right?

Snares and Winds

Tokimonsta was pretty off the hook! Saw a lot of people that day, was hella chill and met a few new friends. Nice to see you Timothy Isaac Mohan, sorry I couldn't stay around longer. I hope you enjoy Sydney, then again it's hard when you're from Melbourne =p

Anyway TOKiMONSTA was ill live, so damn cute, before she even started spinning I was like "Dayymmnnn" (I must be dreamin') definitely was a sweet day.

No photos really but the next day I met up with Annie, and we rode and rode from Bi-Centennial Park to Rhodes and Homebush Olympic Park. Her friend Henry was also there. Good times :)

That's not me, just a Randy at Monster Skate Park.

Also just bought a new lens, Nikkor 17-35mm f2.8 AF-S on the bay for $800

Currently listening to: Nomak, got recommended to this artist by my Padawan. He's definitely sick if you like Nujabes. About to hit up Flylo's new album also.

It's back!

So I'm back online after about 26 hours of having no Mac (I did have online access via a laptop) Oh damn the amount of work that piled up within that time was so ridiculous/coincidental.

So I bought another 4 tickets for TOKiMONSTA, 6 peeps in the Entourage rolling 5 deep son. If you don't know who TOKiMONSTA is then you NEED to peep her steeze on Youtube or here: Click here

Not only is she like Nosaj Thing's counterpart (ish, she's repping the Korean L.A. players, what up?) but she's uber hot. /waves fan in fase

(Her holding a portatax)

Oh Shi~ Yeah you know the drill.
